Bamboo and Brass Ltd. (Ken Murphy, Eric Patterson, Barbara Hubers-Drake, Lori Shephard)

Bamboo and Brass Ltd. will present music of JS Bach in two 1/2 hour concerts in the sanctuary March 24, 8:00-8:30am and 10:30-11:00am. Bamboo and Brass Ltd. is a group of professional musicians created to explore the wide-range of saxophone quartet repertoire, as there has been an explosion of quartet music for saxophone in the past 20 years. Ken Murphy (soprano sax), Eric Patterson (alto sax), Barbara Hubers-Drake (tenor sax), and Lori Shepherd (baritone sax) met while participating in various jazz orchestras throughout the Seattle area. Individually, all have performed nationally and internationally with numerous ensembles at weddings, corporate events, parties, concerts, festivals, educational events, restaurants, clubs, and churches. As a contributor to this weekend’s worldwide Bach in the Subway Festival https://bachinthesubways.org/seattle/ , the quartet thanks Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church for the privilege of presenting a repertoire of music written by J.S. Bach. Musical selections will include Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring, Sleepers Wake, Air on the G-String, Sheep May Safely Graze, Brandenburg Concerto No. 3, I. Allegro Moderato, Chorale and Fugue from Motet No. 1, BWV 225, and others.
