Lucas Diep

Lucas Diep age 9, was born in Melbourne, Australia and currently resides in Singapore. Lucas wishes to be able to play beautiful music and enjoy playing the piano as a life long passion.

Lucas began to play the piano 2 years ago, under the tutelage of Ms. Christine Gan Siew Hui. Over the recent 18 months, Lucas won the First Prize at the American Protégé International Music Talent Competition Fall 2016, he made his debut at the Carnegie Hall, New York in July 2017. In addition, Lucas was awarded First Prize for his solo and his duet, at the Salzburg Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competition 2017, he performed at the Mozarteum, Salzburg in July 2017. Lucas performed his solo, duet, and he also worked with the conductor, Prof. Kazimierz Brzozowski, to perform concerto with the Festival Chamber Orchestra at the International Piano Festival, Chopin’s Homeland at Naleczow, Poland, in July 2017.

This year Lucas took part in the Singapore Piano Island Festival 2018. Lucas also performed at the National Gallery Singapore; the Young Talent Concert at Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, the Rising Star Young Talent Concert at Steinway Gallery, the piano recital at Kawai Recital Hall, Bach Subway and Steinway Piano Marathon.

Megan Phuan

Megan Phuan Zhiyan, 6, aspires to make beautiful music to bring joy to others.

Naturally musical, she developed a keen interest in piano playing under the tutelage of Ms. Christine Gan Siew Hui. A confident performer, her passion in music is evident at a young age. She has performed in Singapore, Carnegie Hall in New York and Salzburg, Austria, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

Megan has performed for Bach in the Subways since 2016. Into her 3rd year, she enjoys playing Bach’s music with friends who equally love Bach.

In December 2017, Megan participated in the Piano Marathon organized by Steinway Gallery Singapore for the benefit of Business Times Budding Artists Fund. It was a 13-hour marathon which was recorded in the Singapore Book of Records.

Megan was the youngest participant at age 5 to participate in ChildAid 2017 held at Resorts World Theatre, Sentosa. The event raised more than $2.1 million for the benefit of the needy children in Singapore.

Megan made her debut at the Carnegie Hall in New York in March 2017, after winning FIRST PRIZE and JUDGES’ DISTINCTION at the American Protégé International Music Talent Competition Fall 2016; and GOLD PRIZE at the 17th AADGT International Young Musicians Festival “PASSION OF MUSIC 2017”.

She was awarded FIRST PRIZE and EXCEPTIONAL YOUNG TALENT Special Prize at the Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competition, in which she had her debut performance at Wiener Saal Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria in July 2016.

At the 6th Singapore Performers’ Festival & Chamber Music Competition 2016, she awarded a GOLD prize for Solo Piano Category in June 2016, Singapore.

Aside from competitions, she gives back to the society by performing at the Alexandra Hospital for the hospital staff and patients. She also enjoys performing in projects such as the Steinway Rising Stars Series at the Singapore National Gallery.

Ryan Phuan

Ryan Phuan Yanming, 10, aspires to be a concert pianist in future.

Ryan’s prodigious talent is developed under the tutelage of Ms Christine Gan Siew Hui since the age of 6. This has led to many performances on the world stage, such as the Carnegie Hall in New York, Opera Bastille in Paris, Sala Dei Notari in Perugia Italy, Moscow, London, Newcastle (UK), Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Hualian in Taiwan; Indonesia and Singapore.

Ryan has participated in Bach in the Subways since 2016. Into his 3rd year, he enjoys playing Bach’s music with friends who equally love Bach.

Ryan made his Concerto Debut at the Music Fest Perugia, Italy in July 2017. Featured in the “Rising Stars Series”, he performed the Haydn Piano Concerto in D major with the Brunensis Virtuosi Orchestra.

In January 2018, Ryan participated in the KYPAF – The 5th Hong Kong International Youth Performing Arts Festival and was awarded the following prizes: 1st Prize in the Mozart Sonata Open Category; 1st

Prize in the Junior Duet Category; and 2nd Prize in the Diploma Class Open Category.

In December 2017, Ryan participated in the Piano Marathon at organized by Steinway Gallery Singapore for the benefit of Business Times Budding Artists Fund (BT BAF), on 16 December 2017. It was a 13-hour marathon which was recorded in the Singapore Book of Records.

In the II Future Stars International Piano Competition, awarded First Prize for the Category “Young Talents” and Best Prokofiev Performance, in December 2017. He was invited to the International Festival Chopin Summer in Busko-Zdroj, Poland in July 2018.

Ryan participated in ChildAid 2017 held at Resorts World Theatre, Sentosa, Singapore in November 2017. The event raised more than $2.1 million for the benefit of the needy children in Singapore.

At the Chopin Memorial Prizes 2017 Hong Kong – International Piano Open Competition in August 2017; Ryan was awarded the following prizes 1st prize in the Chopin Waltz Open Category; 2nd prize in the Chopin Impromptu Open Category; 2nd prize in the Tchaikovsky Open Category and 2nd prize in the Children’s Category.

Ryan participated in the XIV Vladimir Spivakov Moscow Meet Friends International Festival in June 2017. He performed at the Museum of Russian Impressionism and Boesendorfer Loft.

Ryan performed at the Carnegie Hall in November 2016 after he was awarded the FIRST PRIZE Winner and BEST CHOPIN PERFORMANCE Special Prize at the “Golden Classical Music Awards” International Competition.

At the “eMuse” Music Competition 2016 in Greece, Ryan was the overall Winner of Category A for all instruments.

Ryan was awarded the “BEST PERFORMER” at the 6th Asean International Chopin Piano Competition held in Kuala Lumper on December 2015.

Aside from competitions, he also gives back to the society by performing at the Alexandra Hospital for the staff and patients. He enjoys performing in projects such as the Singapore Rhapsodies at the Singapore National Gallery and National Museum.

Kion Chew

BIOGRAPHY
Chew Jia Ying, Kion (Age: 10)

Kion started playing the piano when she was 4 and has shown strong interest and concentration ability when playing piano. She is naturally musical and enjoy performing very much.

Her love for playing the piano leads to her winning many first prizes in competitions she took part, such as the XXII Amadeus International Mozartian Competition held in Czech Republic, the 6th ASEAN International Chopin Piano Competition held in Malaysia, the 2016 Taiwan-Asia International Piano and Vocal Competition, the Great Composers Competition, and Grand Prize Virtuoso competition, leading to many performing opportunities at various cities like New York, Brno, Paris, Taipei, Tainan, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.

Kion won 2 platinum awards at the 6th Singapore Performers’ Festival & Chamber Music Competition 2016 and was invited to play at the Gala Concert for Platinum Awards held at the Yong Siew Toh Concert Hall at National University of Singapore last year.

Last year, she was awarded 2nd prize winner at the 7th Mozart Competition held in Thailand, Bangkok for the 12 years and under age category and 1St Prize for the 2017 East Zone Piano Competition for the 12 years and under senior category.

Kion also gives back to the community by performing at the Alexandra Hospital for the staffs and patients and enjoys performing at events such as Bach in the Subway held in Singapore in 2016 & 2017. She also enjoys performing at the Singapore National Gallery and National Museum in events such as the Singapore Rhapsodies.
