Diana Irving has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of California since 1984, very experienced working with children, families, adults in various settings. She is a mental health therapist and Clinical Director of a family counseling agency in Riverside county, CA.
Diana has played flute since elementary school (piccolo for about 6 yrs) and been involved with music at various levels including school and church bands/orchestra, directing choirs, playing for weddings and other special events. Last year two of her flute duet arrangements were published on the flutetunes website.
This is her fourth year playing for Bach in the Subways.

Valimina “Mina” Spangler is the daughter of Diana’s son, in 9th grade and has continued expanded involvement in music by taking on both trombone and baritone horn, playing in concert, marching, and jazz band in her school. Also she very recently auditioned for the Gold Drum and Bugle Corps and was one of four musicians from her school who was selected for that honor.
This is her second year playing for Bach in the Subways.

Nathaniel Yue, 9 has been studying cello with Vardan Gasparyan since 2013. Under the guidance of Mr. Gasparyan he has already had the honor of performing at Carnegie Hall, Musikverein in Vienna, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and Disney Concert Hall. In the summer of 2016 Nathaniel received a scholarship to study at Montecito International Music Festival under Robert deMaine and Ko Iwasaki. As part of Junior Chamber Musicians, he is a member of a piano trio formed in the fall of 2016. Despite his young age, Nathaniel is very enthusiastic about giving back to the community. He appears regularly at Evergreen Baptist Church Los Angeles and at the CAPS Alzheimer’s day center in Pasadena, CA. Surrounded by so much support, Nathaniel aspires to be a cellist when he grows up. To him, the cello continuously opens new doors, experiences, and connects him to some amazing, wonderful people.

Aumna Iqbal, Mezzo Soprano, will be singing the beautiful “Erbarme Dich” from St. Matthew’s Passion, as well as the haunting “Agnus Dei” from the Mass in B Minor in the CMLA Finale.
Multi-faceted performance artist Aumna Iqbal has been heard in opera and concert throughout the United States and Europe. Upon hearing her, Frederica von Stade said, “Terrific voice. Really solid and interesting – Love the voice!”
Aumna recently made her debut with the Los Angeles Philharmonic in collaboration with The Industry for the world premiere of Nimbus by Rand Steiger at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. 2016 began with Aumna returning to Pacific Symphony as Edith in the Pirates of Penzance, conducted by Roger Kalia. She saddled up again with Pacific Opera Project for their Western reworking of The Merry Widow in a three week run as Praskowia. April 2016 saw her debut with the Santa Barbara Master Chorale as the alto soloist for both Beethoven’s Mass in C and Choral Fantasy, conducted by Stephen Hodson. In October of 2016 she also continued her work in contemporary opera in a new compostion by O-Lan Jones as The Dragon, one of the four mythical beasts of ICELAND in Overtone Industries’ production in the opening season of the refurbished Ford Amphitheater in Los Angeles. 2017 will see her in concert with the Coachella Valley Symphony under the baton of John Mario DiCostanzo, as well as invading the public space once more with Bach in the Subways.
Aumna made her Pacific Symphony debut in 2015 under the baton of Alejandro Gutierrez in their Class Act Youth Concerts, featuring the music of Leonard Bernstein. This year also brought Aumna her first Komponist (Ariadne auf Naxos) in a return to Pacific Opera Project, and a cover performance as La Cenerentola for Pacific Symphony’s Family Musical Mornings concert, Cinderella for Kids!. Aumna also debuted with contemporary opera company The Industry in the critically acclaimed Hopscotch (“one of the most audacious cultural events of the year” -LA Times), a new mobile opera in 24 cars, as a last-minute cover on the Green Route.
In 2014, Aumna was a Liebowitz Centennial Fellow at Middlebury College for the internationally renowned Deutsch für Sängern program, where she spent the summer mastering the German language and reprising the role of Dorabella in German. Last season she was also seen as Suzuki (Madama Butterfly) with Center Stage Opera, as a cover for the title role in Carmen with Pacific Opera Project, and as Dorabella with Repertory Opera Company. She first joined ROC in the role of Mrs. Herring (Albert Herring) as part of the LA Opera Britten 100 Festival in 2013, and in the same year she performed Zerlina (Don Giovanni) with New York Lyric Opera Theatre.
Aumna has been the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships, most notably First Prize in the POSA Follman-Young Young Artist Competition and the Anna Haxworth Music Prize, and she was twice a finalist for The American Prize in Opera. She also is a Young Musicians Foundation scholarship recipient, and participated in Songfest 2012 as a Songfest Fellow at The Colburn School in Los Angeles.
Aumna completed a Master of Studies in Musicology from the University of Oxford and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Distinction and Honors) in Music from Stanford University. She has trained with faculty, directors, and actors from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Globe Theatre, and South Coast Repertory.
