Felix Hernandez-Jones has been playing Viola and Violin for nearly twenty years. He was introduced to the Viola in middle school and an awkward friendship with the instrument ensued punctuated largely by awkward silences and askance looks. He studied both Viola Performance and Music Education at the University of the Pacific in Stockton and was a viola student of Madeline Prager and Janet Simms. Aside from free-lance playing in the Greater Los Angeles area he enjoys mentoring younger instrumentalists as a Teaching Artist with Heart of Los Angeles and the Hollywood Academy of Music. His hobbies include contemplating crippling self- doubt, being overly caffeinated, and baking scones.
