Palo Alto Plays Bach | Mitchell Park Library

Palo Alto High School students perform Bach: Andrew Lu, Flute Emil Ernström, Keyboard

Program

  • Movements from Flute Sonatas in C major and E minor
  • Prelude and Fugue No. 6 in D minor (from the Well-Tempered Clavier, Book I)
  • Praeludium BWV 999
  • Selections from Orchestral Suite in B minor

*The Mitchell Park performance will also feature flutist Lisa Lawerence.

Andrew Lu & Emil Ernström are both seniors at Palo Alto High School. Soon to pursue a career in flute performance, Andrew has had much enjoyment and experience performing works by Bach, among other composers. Emil, soon to attend college for music composition, has similarly found much reverence in the works of Bach. Although Emil and Andrew often collaborate on musical matters, this will be their inaugural performance for Bach in the Subways.

Andrew and Emil will also be performing at the Rinconada Library at 3:15pm

On Saturday, March 21, 2015, the Eastman School of Music is joining musicians around the world to celebrate J.S. Bach’s 330th birthday, part of an international movement called Bach in the Subways. We are uniting to perform free Bach in a public space, Hart’s Local Grocers, 10am-1pm, on Saturday March 21 to share our love for our art form and sow the seeds for future generations of classical music lovers.
