INSTRUMENT
Since 1983, Cary Belling has been active in Southern California as a conductor, composer, violinist and teacher. He began his professional career as a violinist with the San Antonio Symphony at age 22. Currently he performs throughout Southern California as a member of the California Philharmonic and Desert Symphony as well as makes recordings and appearances for a number of distinguished ensembles. He has served, as an assistant conductor with the Pasadena Pops Orchestra, the University Synagogue Chamber Orchestra, the Brentwood Symphony. He holds a masters degree in conducting from California State University at Northridge and a Bachelor of Music in Performance from the University of Texas at Austin. As a composer, Mr. Belling has received grants or awards from the American Composers Forum, American Music Center, the Pasadena Cultural Affairs Division, Meet The Composer California as well as eleven ASCAP Plus awards. His compositions have been performed by the Burbank Philharmonic, the Pasadena Pops Orchestra, the Inland Empire Symphony, the Pasadena Community Orchestra, the Brentwood Symphony, and the Palisades Symphony.
