DEBORAH H. HOW received her PhD from the USC Thornton School of Music, MA from the UCLA School of Music, and BA from Swarthmore College. She also holds an MBA from the UMass Amherst Isenberg School of Management and is a member of The Honor Societies of Pi Kappa Lambda, Phi Kappa Phi, and Beta Sigma Gamma. Deborah maintains a private independent music studio in Santa Monica with national-level competition winners in both piano performance and theory/composition. She is also the owner and executive director of The Conservatory of Performing Arts in West Los Angeles. As a classically trained pianist and flutist, she concertizes regularly in ensemble groups and as a concerto soloist for community outreach concerts and fundraising events. Deborah is widely known as a connection builder and fundraising architect for music education and performing arts organizations. She travels throughout the U.S. giving lectures/workshops on both studio management and pedagogy topics. Committed to non-profit community work, she is president and co-founder of the Westside Music Foundation, a 501c3 public benefit charity for music education. She is also the CEO and co-founder of BRAVURA innovations, a consulting company with clients in the U.S. and Canada, dedicated to virtuoso management, marketing, and branding solutions for the performing arts. DERMOT MULRONEY (actor, writer, director, musician, cellist, songwriter, composer) is a life-long multi-instrumentalist. Dermot started playing cello in the public school system in Alexandria, VA as a student of Loren D. Stephenson. He was a winner of DC area student solo cello competitions and was principal cellist of the Northern Virginia Youth Symphony, as well as state and regional orchestra from 1978–1981. He was a student at Interlochen Music Camp and a member of the World Youth Symphony Orchestra (WYSO). Dermot was a master class cello student of Janos Starker and a student of Antony Cooke at Northwestern University (music minor). He played under the baton of Mstislav Rostropovich and Leonard Bernstein with the National Symphony Student Orchestra at The Kennedy Center 1978-81. Dermot has been an orchestra sectional cellist in the Hollywood Studio Symphony of composer Michael Giacchino since 2011, playing sessions on such film scores such as Incredibles 2, Coco, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Jurassic World. Tim Simonec conductor. Dermot has appeared in over 100 film and television productions—frequently playing a musician. Recently seen in season 2 & 3 of Amazon’s Mozart in the Jungle, Dermot plays his own pre-recorded solo performances of Lalo’s Cello Concerto D Minor and Faure’s Elegy. He portrays the role of orchestral conductor and world-famous cellist Andrew Walsh.
