PROGRAM
Bach repertoire from the Suzuki books. NOTE: Tomorrow, Wednesday March 22, 2017, I will lead the MadSingers of greater Hartford in 5 pieces by Bach at Union (train) Station in Hartford. (There is a Subway restaurant in the station.), On Wed. 3/22/17, MadSingers of West Hartford sang at Hartford's train station. Union Station has a huge, resonant hall which was perfect for our 5 pieces: a chorale (Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring with Unitarian words), Bourree from 1st Lute Suite with scat lyrics, Pleni sunt coeli (incredible 4-voice canon with each voice entering a the 5th above), Alleluia from motet Lobe den Herrn, and Sicut locutus est from Magnificat. A few passengers and workers listened and applauded, but the station manager brought her staff and they listened appreciatively. One of them even agreed to sing "Sicut" with us! We displayed the BitS poster and handed out flyers. ***Next year we can do a return engagement on Bach's actual birthday, Wed. Mar. 21, 2018! Come hear us!
Hartt Suzuki program students are right now performing every piece by Bach they know. I’ve been accompanying their group classes for many years, and today I’m the auxiliary accompanist.
