Stephen Nutt w/ Freelancer Brass Quintet – 10 Hour Bach Marathon at Union Station

Bachground: I see Los Angeles as a community that challenges traditional boundaries and always looks ahead to the future. That is why I chose to create the FreeLAncer Series— a unique chamber music entity that fosters the inspiration and creativity of the unsung musical heroes of L.A., the freelancers, and provides them an opportunity to come out of the shadows and share with the communities around and among us.

BitS LA Impact: I believe Bach in the Subways LA has become something vital to the city. It acts as a reminder of humility and an opportunity to reconnect with centuries of musical culture. Whenever I’m feeling a little too comfortable or complacent, I will play the music of J.S. Bach to remind myself I’ve only scratched the surface. It is a great honor for the FreeLAncer Series Brass Quintet to be a part of this project and share the musical genius that is Johann Sebastian Bach.
