Bach in the Pubway

Every year on March 21, Johann Sebastian Bach’s birthday, musicians around the world celebrate Bach in the Subways Day by offering performances in subways, public spaces, and concerts open to all.

This year, Huddersfield’s chosen venue is the Flying Ferret at Shelley and members of the cello section of Huddersfield Philharmonic Orchestra will be there to bring the music of Bach and others to a new venue.

Not a formal concert, more a jam session. Hear the tune from the Hamlet advert (yes, that is one of Bach’s tunes), or a Brandenburg Concerto, and choose from other music to listen to. We can’t promise that if you hum it we’ll play it – but there will be plenty to choose from.

Don’t miss the day when Chris and Caroline welcome the cellos – 21 March, 2015, from about 5.30 onwards.Every year on March 21, Johann Sebastian Bach’s birthday, musicians around the
